“KOGEI Next” Exhibition 2024

今年は京都にてKOGEI Next exhibition 2024 を行うことになりました。KANEGAE のギャラリーに加え、同時期の二つのアートフェアを加えた三会場での開催となります。
皆様には秋の京都を満喫して頂きながら、作家たちの渾身の作品たちをご覧頂ければ幸いです。
We are having the KOGEI Next Exhibition 2024 in Kyoto this year.
The exhibition takes place at three venues, KANEGAE gallery and two art festivals held at the same time.
We hope you will enjoy Kyoto in autumn while viewing our artists’ works created to the best of their ability.
現代素材問答@Art Collaboration Kyoto 2024
KOGEI Nextの今年のテーマである“現代におけるアート素材の探求”。
これを香港のTHE SHOPHOUSEと共に紹介致します。
今後、アート制作においてどのような未来の可能性があるかを国際的に探求しました。
KANEGAEからは織田隼生、佐藤裕一郎、福村龍太、David Bielander、THE SHOPHOUSEからはJaejun Lee、Sam Creasey、Steve Harrison、Victor Seawardの合計8名の作品を展示します。
彼らが日々使う素材と改めて向き合い、制作を行いました。
What Are Materials Today@Art Collaboration Kyoto 2024
Our theme this year at KANEGAE is “Exploring Art Materials in the Modern Age”. We are showing on this with THE SHOPHOUSE from Hong Kong, and going to explore what possibilities there are for the future of art production on an international scale. A total of eight artists’ works will be on display: Toshiki Oda, Yuichiro Sato, Ryuta Fukumura, David Bielander from KANEGAE; and Jaejun Lee, Sam Creasey, Steve Harrison, Victor Seaward from THE SHOPHOUSE. These artists have rethought the materials they use day to day and created new works.

野口寛斉×福村龍太
二人の陶芸家が現代社会と向き合い、自身が使う素材を見直し制作に挑みました。
気鋭の陶芸家二人の初めてのマッチアップの展示をご期待下さい。
超絶技巧作品
精巧に制作された満田晴穂の自在置物。制作不可能とされた一枚打出しの鍛金作品を現代に蘇らせた本郷真也。驚異の一木作品を彫る前原冬樹。
KOGEI Nextらしい現代最高峰の超絶技巧の数々をご覧頂きます。
インスタレーション展示 大竹亮峯&佐藤裕一郎
フィンランドの森を描き続ける佐藤裕一郎。彼の鉛筆画は”乾式の水墨画”とも呼ばれています。今回は佐藤の新作と共に、2022年に描いた8mの大作を立体的に展示致します。
また彫刻家の大竹亮峯は新作の竹の水仙を披露致します。この水仙は彫刻物でありながら、水を注ぐと蕾が花開く驚きの作品です。
KANEGAEの離れにて、二人のインスタレーション作品をご堪能ください。

Kansai Noguchi and Ryuta Fukumura
Two ceramic artists have confronted contemporary society and have taken up a production challenge after they rethought the materials they always use.
Please look forward to the first match-up exhibition featuring these two up-and-coming ceramic artists.
Superlative artworks
Haruo Mitsuta elaborately produced articulated animal works. Shinya Hongo revived single-piece wrought metal works, which were considered impossible in the modern age. Fuyuki Maehara carved amazing woodwork from single pieces of wood. You will find some of the finest contemporary superlatives that are unique to KOGEI Next.
Installation art exhibition: Ryoho Otake & Yuichiro Sato
Yuichiro Sato has drawn forests in Finland. His pencil drawings are also called ‘dry ink drawings’. Along with his new work, a large 8-meter work that he painted in 2022 will be on display at the exhibition. Sculptor Ryoho Otake will also present a new Bamboo Daffodil. This amazing artwork is a sculpture, but buds blossom when water is poured over them. Please enjoy their installation artworks in KANEGAE’s detached gallery.

古美術柳、ギャラリー志、KANEGAE＜KOGEI Next＞の三者で渉成園・滴翠軒の空間を共創します。
三者が扱う作品は時代もジャンルも大きく異なります。しかし、私たちの使命は同じです。時代を越えて愛される美術品の選定と創造。そして、その美意識を次の世代に繋げることです。
200年、300年先に更に輝きを放つ作品を、この滴翠軒の空間に見立て、サイトスペシフィックに披露致します。

Three of us, Kobijutsu Yanagi, Gallery Shirushi, and KANEGAE ＜KOGEI Next＞, will collaborate to create the space at Shoseien and Tekisuiken. The works that these three handle, vary greatly in terms of era and genre. But our mission is the same—to select and create artworks that will be loved across the ages and, to pass on that aesthetic sense to the next generation. We will present site-specific artworks that will shine even more brilliantly 200 or 300 years from now in the space of Tekisuiken.
During the above period, KANEGAE will also be holding the Art Collaboration Kyoto 2024 exhibition. We hope you will come and see us there too. We look forward to seeing you.

【主催者からのご挨拶】
令和の空気を伝えられる作品とはどのような作品でしょうか？
現在の日本で「工芸家」と呼ばれるアーティストたちは、社会とはかけ離れた陸の孤島にいる様に思えます。
伝統に縛られ、進化を続ける社会との距離は日に日に広がっております。このプロジェクトの目的は、その距離を縮め、時に「超絶技巧」とも称される現代の工芸家の作品を現代社会とつなげることにあります。
KOGEI Next では様々な専門家や企業との協働を進めています。現在では、高度に成長した企業が利益追求だけではなく、積極的に社会問題に取り組む世の中となりました。その中には崇高な思想を用いたプロジェクトが多々あります。アーティストと企業とが出会い、多角的な議論と実験を行い、最高の手仕事に現代的思考を取り込む。スポーツ界と同じように工芸作家たちの創造力に科学的なサポートを提供することにより進化を生む。環境にやさしい、持続可能な工芸の在り方を提案する。そうすることによって100 年、200 年後に、「日本工芸のターニングポイント」として、この令和という時代を美術の歴史に遺したいのです。
現代人と未来人、その両方が共感し感動できるアートを想像するために、私達は作家たちの制作の場に現代的進化を取り入れ、更なる人間業の高みを目指す実験を行ってまいります。
